• Question: does your work save lives

      A tough one. Maybe not directly (like a doctor or something) but because I help make things safer (like making measurements on parts that make up airplanes to make sure they don’t fall out of the sky) it prevents accidents from happening. So like prevention behind the scenes!

      Like Dan, I can’t say that I directly save lives. I rarely have to save people from sharks, for instance, or stop alien invasions. However, the lab where I work most certainly does do science that helps to save lives. I guess you could say that I help run the machine that far cleverer people than me use to save lives, amongst many other things.
