My mum is a radiographer (she takes x-rays of people in hospital) and my dad does not work anymore but did management consultancy (telling companies how to manage things better).

My dad works for a magazine and helps with their different language translations (German and French) and my mum is a housewife.

My dad started out as a physicist – he went to the same university as me and then went to work on the same site as me! Or perhaps the other way around…

He worked on some really early particle accelerators too – so it’s a bit like a family business 😉

After that he went into computer programming and system-design, working on things like auto-pilot systems for aeroplanes!

My mum was a primary school teacher, but gave it up to be n artist and look after her brood of needy kids, of which I was the most handsome and talented of course 😉

Now they both live in a little village in the Lake District!
