• Question: what would you like to achive or do in the future?

      What a nice question! In about 6 weeks time I’m running a marathon, I’ve wanted to do one for years and years and have worked really hard towards it – it’s been much harder than I first thought but it will be a great achievement if I manage that. Wish me luck!

      I hope my career is happy and successful, you work for such a long period of your life I think it would be a shame if you didn’t find it fulfilling. I genuinely believe I’ve made a good start on that with engineering! Aside from that, I guess one of my main aims is to find myself a lovely lady and start a family.

      I also want to break a world record, it’s been an ambition since I was kid! Maybe learn to play a musical instrument too.

      im not completely sure yet. possibly helping to design a very good new nuclear reactor to help solve our energy and environmental problems until we can use fusion power. Another thing I would like to do is measure tiny little particles called neutrinos, these wee things are very interesting and might explain a lot of things we dont know about the universe (like why we exist at all for starters!)

      I’d quite like to produce a good scientific and technical text-book, written entirely as a series of funny comics involving squirrels and Monkey Ghost*.

      That’s almost a serious answer, too!

      But I don’t know, really – there’s a lot that I’d like to do. There are novels that I would finish writing, there are pictures to draw. I’d like to be in a band again. I’d like to see Diamond become the best darn synchrotron it can be and I’d like to go on to another big project and see that through too!

      Oh…and space. I SO want to go to space and see our little planet for the fragile blue-marble that it is.

      Good answers below, in terms of work I’d like to advance and eventually be able to manage projects. Right now as i’m just starting out i work on a couple projects, but i’d like to have a go at organising and running whole projects myself and having people work under me, not just cause i’m on a power trip but i think is a cool challenge.

      Personally, i played guitar for a few months several years ago and want to eventually learn (spanish guitar, so kind of chilled out music you pick rather than strum). I’m married, so someday would like kids, but in the meantime my sister is having a baby later this year so i want to be the world’s most awesome uncle.
